SERVICES
Small business bookkeeping and tax prep, for wherever you are
Every business is in a different place with its books. Find the stage that sounds like yours, and know you can come in wherever you are.
"We're just getting started."
New Business Setup
Starting fresh? I'll choose and set up your software, build your chart of accounts, and put clean systems in place from day one — so you start organized and skip the costly cleanup later.
"We've fallen behind."
Catch-up & Cleanup Bookkeeping
Fallen behind? It's fixable. I'll reconcile your accounts, categorize every transaction, and bring everything current — so you finish with a clear picture, and an easy on-ramp to staying that way.
"We want to stay on top of it."
Monthly Bookkeeping
Each month I reconcile your accounts, categorize your activity, and send clear reports — with a regular check-in so nothing slips. Numbers you can actually run your business on.
"We need taxes handled."
Tax Preparation & Filing
I prepare and file your returns start to finish — done, not just organized and handed back. Keep your books with me year-round, and tax season is already handled.

About
Hi, I’m Krista
I've spent 25 years keeping serious books, and I'd love to keep yours.
For most of my career, I worked inside big finance — I’ve been a Senior Financial Analyst at Citicorp managing a $34 million restructuring reserve, a corporate compensation analyst, and 14 years running the books for a commercial real estate firm. Later I led finances for a museum, where grants, restricted funds, and board reporting taught me a particular kind of care.
It's a wide range: fortune-level corporate, small business, and a mission-driven nonprofit… but it comes down to one thing: I know what clean, accurate books look like, and the peace of mind they bring. Now I bring that same rigor to small businesses across Central Florida.
When you work with Silvermine, you work with me, not a rotating team. I'm a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and Xero Certified, fluent in both, and I handle your books and your taxes, so your whole financial year stays in one steady, trusted place.
I have a soft spot for entrepreneurs, artists, and mission-driven organizations — people building something they care about. Whatever you're building, let's keep its finances clear and current, so you can focus on the rest.

FAQ
The Questions I Hear Most
-
Short version: a bookkeeper keeps your day-to-day records accurate and current, and an accountant or tax preparer uses those records to file your taxes. Most small businesses need both — which is the nice part of working with me. I keep your books clean all year and prepare and file your taxes when the season comes, so it's one relationship instead of two, and nothing slips through the gap between them.
-
It depends on where your books are today and what you need — a one-time cleanup is priced differently than ongoing monthly support, and a business a year behind is a different job than one starting fresh. Rather than a one-size price that's wrong for almost everyone, I'll give you a clear, custom quote after a short first conversation. No surprises and no obligation — you'll know exactly what you're getting and what it costs before we begin.
-
You're in good company, and it's more fixable than it feels. Catching up is one of the most common reasons people call me — a few months or a few years, I've seen it, and there's no lecture waiting for you. I'll reconcile your accounts, sort out the backlog, and bring everything current, so you finish with a clear picture and a clean place to work from.
-
Absolutely. I work in person with businesses around Mount Dora, Orlando, and the wider Central Florida area, and remotely with clients anywhere in the country. Cloud-based bookkeeping means your books stay just as current and secure whether I'm down the road or across the map.
-
Both — I'm certified in each, so you're not locked into one. If you already have a system you like, I'll work in it. If you're starting fresh or open to a change, I'll recommend the setup that actually fits how your business runs, not just the one I happen to prefer.
-
You'll work directly with me, every time. Silvermine is a boutique practice on purpose — no rotating account managers, no handing your books to whoever's free that week. You get one person who knows your business, your history, and your numbers.
-
Yes — and it's some of my favorite work. I spent five years running finance for a museum, so I'm genuinely fluent in what mission-driven and creative organizations deal with: restricted funds, grants, board reporting, and budgets that have to stretch. Whether you're a nonprofit, an artist, or a small business of any kind, your books are in experienced hands.
